Set Out Your Tasks
Posted on January 12th, 2008 in Blogging Tips |
I recently read a post on How Stressful Do Your Find Blogging? and then I started to think about it. I would usually get stressed because of not being prepared. Having a blog comes down to being on top of everything you are doing and knowing what you are doing when, where and what you write. I began writing down a list of bullet points that I should do on a daily basis on my blog. Once these are done and completed, the time is my own to do anything further I wish.

Creating a list has allowed me to prioritize everything and make sure I complete it. If it is written down I cannot forget to write about it. Previously I would skip from one thing to another without sometimes completing one and then loose my frame of mind on what I was working on, and forget an idea which was the worst thing!
This leads to bad posts and not being able to write what you want to. Setting yourself targets and tasks will help you help you know your blog is progessing.
Here is a list of bullet points that will hopefully help you set out your blogging time a lot better and hopefully increase your traffic:
- - Post two blog entries and timestamp them for the next day.
- - Post five comments on other blogs, maybe more?
- - Set aside a while to make sure you read others blogs and learn.
- - Research old posts on other blogs to learn something you haven’t before.
- - Prepare images for your posts.
- - Proofread your posts.
- - Fix any errors on your website.
- - Check everything, e.g. your emails, your accounts.
- - Make a visible change to your websites design once in a while.
- - Install a new plugin that will help you.
- - Help someone else with their website.
- - Organise everything you are doing.
It is a great feeling when you know that nothing is getting on top of you and you have everything in place and you know your next action.
Putting these in some order and making sure you complete them will definitely relieve some of your stress whilst blogging if you have any. You will feel you have a deeper understanding of blogging over a period of time and you will know what you have to do as you have the opportunity to learn from others and perfect it on your blog.
Remember this list is not a complete guide to how to relieve stress, the ideas on how how doing certain actions will assist you and your blogging to make it easier and a better experience each time.
