Everyone stumbles across a blog like Problogger or John Chow, and it seems as if they almost fall into a love affair with blogging as a new way of life. While it’s true that blogging is a new way of life, odds are, it’s not the way out for you.

TNX.net is a unique text link advertising service that I was introduced to only a week ago and with the title the Text Link Revolution, that was something I definitely had to try out. Initial reactions to what I saw on their homepage were very good. Let’s take at their current network statistics what I’m currently seeing whilst writing this review:

The TNX homepage is certainly nice to look at with a nice blend of light blue, white and orange but I’m sure you’re interested in the usability of the website.

After looking at the support that they offer, I see they give live support and forum support. Live support can’t be online 24/7 so I’d like to see a few different alternatives in the future like phone support or a ticket system. People who need support really appreciate talking directly to a member of staff and increased means of support will definitely keep users at TNX.

What I Like About the Blog
Arun’s branding is good, his little character with glasses adds uniqueness to your blog which will make people remember that is you if they see you poking around on the web. Your blog has all the necessary pages that a visitor likes to see. Areas I think you could Improve on
A review wouldn’t be a review if I didn’t provide areas of improvement so here’s a few things what I think you could improve on.

There is a LOT of writing. I don’t know where to start when I am visiting your homepage. The key part in a blog is its content and that is down the page before I start. I see you have your goals for 2008 and some other information at the top which is not really useful to the visitor. The only thing that I would use in that top part is the “Ask Me! I’ll Help You Make Money Online”. Try organising that section a bit more and making sure what you want pointed out, actually is.

You see the same example of finding it hard to find things in the sidebars, there is a lot of information on both sides. Do you really need it all? Think about what your visitors are seeing. There are a lot of adverts and text links and it draws away from the content again.

You really want to make your RSS stand out a bit more to. I only see one button directing to your RSS feed. Be bold and ask readers to subscribe. Add something similar to ‘If you liked this post, then why not subscribe?’ at the end of your posts and link it to your feed. Also it is essential you offer a form on your homepage for people to subscribe via email. These are simple steps that will help you gain RSS subscribers.
