Start Reviewing

Posted on January 11th, 2008 in Earn Money Blogging | 1 Comment »

Following up my previous post on driving traffic to your website from commenting on other bloggers websites, reviewing products is another successful way of making money whilst gathering more visitors. People around the web are constantly looking for reviews and posting a review on your blog is something that people are most likely looking to read.

Making Money
Writing reviews is a perfect way for you to make some money. You can review a product, just say for example your iPod, but you will not receive any money from it because basically we all know that Apple will not be paying us to review their products. If a blogger advertises that they will review a product for a set amount then this is where the advertiser can choose whether they wish to pay for a review. A review of a product will bring that advertiser traffic and hopefully give them a good word for their product. :-)

The Marketplace
Some websites that offer a marketplace are websites like ReviewMe and PayPerPost. They offer a marketplace for advertisers to buy reviews and bloggers to advertise their price for a review.

If You Do Not Have It, Do Not Review It!
A common mistake made by the person writing the review is reviewing the product without even used it or having it. For example if you are reviewing a website, sign-up, use the service and then write a detailed review. Looking at the homepage and writing what you think for a service, just does not do that website justice. The same applies for a product like e.g. a phone. Do not just go from what you see or read, you have to own the product to gain the maximum benefit from using it and giving a thorough review.

Notifying your visitors
You may see dotted around some websites, signs like these?

John Chow ReviewMe Sign

Successful bloggers like John Chow are able to charge large amounts for a review for someone to review their product as the amount of traffic he received will create wonders for the promotion of the advertiser’s product.

You can advertise that you offer a review service by using the services provided by ReviewMe or PayPerPost, they give you a sense of ‘professionalism’ as these sites are widely used. This will create trust between in the relationship between you and the advertisers. Writing on your website that you offer a review for so and so much and then linking straight to a payment page will not be as effective.

A Few Reviews For Free Maybe?
A good way of driving traffic to your website is reviewing some websites for free, it is sometimes good to write about popular websites, but any website which you would wish to review will bring you traffic. Once you’ve completed the review, you should let the website owner know you have and then hopefully they will post a link to your blog on their website, which then in turn equals more traffic for you!

What Should I Write In My Review?
Readers love to see in depth reviews of a product and what they can expect from that product. You may want to add pictures of the product you are reviewing and maybe a video of you using the product. You have to be honest, if there is something negative, say it! Readers do not want to hear you say how great it is, only to discover you forgot to mention what negative things they experienced. Advertisers will want to hear the negative to, they want to know how they can improve their product. Especially website owners love to hear experiences from their visitors to see how they can improve in the future.

My Monetization Methods

Posted on January 10th, 2008 in Earn Money Blogging | 3 Comments »

As a fairly new blog, I looked endlessly on other blogs to investigate what they used to monetize their blog. I was very unsure which companies to use and wanted to know background information on them before I actually signed up, I did the search and asked for various opinions and reviews from other people. I have written about these companies in confidence that I know they are safe and real as it can sometimes be a daunting task in deciding which whether you should sign up or not. Each month I will be tracking and posting earnings from the previous months so you will be able to see the growth in these monetization methods.

Google Adsense
Google Adsense Logo
I have used Google Adsense on many previous websites of mine, since 21st January 2006. I’ll be honest, the amount I’ve made since that time is $86.21 BUT I have only used Adsense for around 6 months of that time for websites. The other times I have not had any codes running, so I think that makes my earnings seem a little better. That is from 17,506 impressions and 242 clicks. I’m still waiting for that illustrious $100 mark, and maybe I’ll hold it for a while and see how much I can accumulate. Google Adsense is a very nice earner and is the perfect PPC for your first monetization method.

Kontera
Kontera Logo
Kontera is a PPP (PayPerClick) form of monetization. You place a code on your website which then picks keywords from your website and turns them into adverts. You can probably see around this post, there are double underlined blue words. When a person hovers over the keyword a box pops up next to the word and displays an advert.

Project Wonderful
Project Wonderful
Project Wonderful offers the chance for people to advertise on your blog via a bidding system. They call it the “endless bid”. There are many different size advertising spots you can offer and people can bid from $0.00 (advertise for free) upwards unless you set a minimum bid. The bid can raise a lot depending on how many people advertise on your blog. More traffic to your blog generally means more profit. People like using Project Wonderful because it offers them the chance to advertise for a few cents.

NeverblueAds
NeverblueAds
NeverblueAds is a leading affiliate network in where you can earn commission for various things after someone clicks on the advert through your blog. NeverblueAds completes your application by phoning you and they offer you a great opportunity to make more money with your blog. NeverblueAds is extremely easy to use and NeverblueAds give great affiliate support from your own affiliate manager.

WidgetBucks

This is another new method that I have only just started using to. WidgetBucks offers semi-contextual advertising. You receive payment from either clicks on adverts that are placed on my website or an impression basis. You can also earn 10% from people you refer over a 12 month period.

Earn $$ with WidgetBucks!

TTZMedia
TTZMedia Logo
TTZMedia is a PPC network, which I have just started using. TTZMedia by John Chow is a method I have been wanting to try for a while and I finally got round to signing up. You can earn a minimum of $0.15 each time someone clicks a product. A referral program allows the referrer to earn 10% of what the person who joins TTZmedia earns over the next 12 months. A minimum of $25 is required to be paid, either by Cheque or PayPal.

This post will be updated at various times to notify you of any changes to the monetization method.

Why not comment and write about your experiences with these companies?
