Monetization Options

Posted on May 19th, 2008 in Earn Money Blogging | 6 Comments »

You have been working hard to produce good-quality, original content on your blog and you have attracted a decent amount of traffic by doing so. However, money is not going to appear out of thin air just because you have traffic. You have to turn your traffic into money.

There are several ways to generate profits from the visitors of your blog, and Google’s Adsense program allows you to do so with ultimate ease. First, visit their website at http://adsense.google.com/. You’ll find out more about their advertising program there, but here are some extra bits I’d like to tell you.

First, Google’s Adsense program is a really useful way to monetize your blog because when users finish reading your newest post, chances are they want to leave your blog because they have nothing else to do on your blog. If your Adsense advertisement block is visible on your blog, they might see advertisements relevant to them and click on them to exit your blog. Ka-ching! You’ve just cashed in on your first virtual cents!

But yes, your profits will only be cents if you don’t “do it right”. This involves placing your Google ads in the right places and ensuring they blend in to your site so that they appear more like links rather than advertisements to your visitors. Consult the page https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html to see the “heat map” of your blog. The “hotter” a certain area, the greater the chances of someone looking at your blog.

Once you get a Google Adsense account, you can change the colour of your advertisement text and links. You will want them to match the colours on your blog. If your blog’s text is black and the links are red, do the same for the ad blocks too! It’s that simple.

Another way to earn profits from your blog is to recommend products to your readers. When your visitors buy from the merchants you recommend, you get to keep a little commission too. This is known as affiliate marketing and it is very easy to start because you don’t have to create your own products or services.

Anyway, let’s refer back to our technological gadgets blog example. Let’s say you discover this Gadget X on a merchant’s website, and they offer an affilliate program. What you would do is to create a post in your blog and do a mini-review on this Gadget X. Rip it apart and point out its benefits and bad points, if any, and include a link (which is given by the merchant) for the visitor to purchase the Gadget X online.

If your visitor clicks and purchases the gadget, the merchant will track from the link that the purchase is referred by you, so they will send you your share of the profits. Imagine if 1 out of every 100 visitors you get purchases this product, and you earn $27.00 commission from each purchase! If you get 10,000 visitors in a month that would be a $2,700.00 paycheque for you just for writing about ONE product.

Now, affiliate programs are very nice ways to generate profit, but how do you find affiliate programs that are related to your blog’s theme? Easy, just go to Google and search for <your niche> +”affiliate programs”. Another slightly better way is to go to http://www.associateprograms.com/search to look for affiliate program in your niche.

The two ways mentioned above are basic ways to generate profits from your blog. We’ll be discussing other great, profitable ways, so keep your eyes peeled!

Earn Money Just By Searching

Posted on March 28th, 2008 in Earn Money | 7 Comments »

I always alert my email subscribers first of methods that I find to make money online, so make sure you subscribe by email (at the bottom of this post) to be notified.

I’m very busy at the moment but I will let you know about another way you can add another sum to your income. That is by MySearchFunds, a service that pays you for searching! I signed up yesterday.

Once the quick sign-up process was completed, I installed the Search bar that goes in the top right hand side of my FireFox and that’s all I had to do. I then went about my business and any searches I had, I just searched it through the search bar. MySearchFunds works with Ask.com to pass 50% of their revenue onto its users. You have to make sure your searches are natural, use it just like you would for any other search! It’ll work just fine, no need to spam the search.

Your Browser
The service is currently limited to Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla/FireFox browsers. That doesn’t matter though as the world should be using Mozilla Firefox.

Referrals
Let’s have a look at this diagram they present to you!

MySearchFunds

You can earn extra by referring lots of your friends to this service. They present you with a calculator that could show you how much you could earn from your friends! Take a look at the calculator here, but here was an unrealistic amount that I could earn from 100 friends that search on average 30 times a day!

“In one month your searches will earn £22.50
In one year your searches will earn £273.75

In one month if 100 of your friends also did 30 searches and in turn 100 of their friends did the same and in turn 100 of their friends did the same you will earn £573,997.50!
In one year if 100 of your friends also did 30 searches and in turn 100 of their friends did the same and in turn 100 of their friends did the same you will earn £6,983,636.25!”

Nice!

Payment
I’m guessing this is the bit you want to hear about. You can be paid straight into your bank account or you can use PayPal, that’s very convenient. You get paid every 30 days, 45 days after each month ends.

Sign-Up
If you like the sound of this service, I’d like to build my friends.

Have fun earning!

Get Paid To Blog With Smorty

Posted on March 6th, 2008 in Earn Money Blogging | 5 Comments »

Yesterday I applied for Smorty, a blog advertising network that allows you to blog for money. Smorty is a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. Advertisers advertise on blogs by requesting bloggers to write opinion posts with links back to the advertisers site.

Initial Reaction
I submitted my blog last night and within 2-3 hours, my blog was accepted. I was impressed by as I was able to get under way with my first task that I accepted. After poking around on their website to get to grips with things I found some very useful resources. These included an ‘Easy SEO Guide‘ that will help improve Search Engine Optimization on your website. Smorty also has an affiliate program which I haven’t delved into yet, but others will enjoy the payment you can receive from referring an advertiser to Smorty.

Website

Smorty.com

Smorty is very much a “straight to business” website. The two big different colour boxes outline all the information. One box is for advertisers and one is bloggers, and on this contains all the information about what you get and underneath is a description outlining what advertisers and bloggers do using their service. Smorty’s navigation on their homepage is very simple and has all the necessary pages you need equip with FAQ’s that answer any question you need. The blogger and advertiser rules are outlined clearly so you know what you have to do and can do as per their conditions.

Blogger Navigation
The blogger navigation is extremely easy to use and outlines all the information you need to see clearly and all on one page. Your blog rating and profile avatar are displayed in the top left corner and below this, you can also keep track of all the posts that you accept to write about. Below both of these is the bit I like very much. Displayed are your payments from the last 7 days, last months earnings, total earnings and the pending earnings that you will receive. Managing everything you are doing with Smorty is simple when you have two columns right in front of you. One labelled ‘Pending Tasks’ and one labelled ‘New Opportunities’ which help you make sure you have everything organised and when your posts should be completed by and when your done, you can choose another one if it’s available.

Payment
Smorty pay you via PayPal weekly, this is a very nice feature I like. You don’t have to wait a long time to receive your payment. In your control panel you can keep track of payments you have received with a “Payment History” link. I can see $6 per blog post at the minute, thats extra cash for you, especially if your not earning a large amount from your blog!

I’m always one for trying new ways to earn more cash and that’s why I have just applied at Blogvertise. After reading a few reviews about Blogvertise I decided it was time to start using their service. Part of their approval program is to write about them, to show them all what I can do and introduce them to my blog, hopefully they will like it. So hello to the member of the Blogvertise team that drops by!

The process works very simply, they provide you with something to write about, you write the post and meet the requirements and they pay you for each post you do! It’s an extremely easy way of earning extra cash for your blog. You must complete it within 5 days; each post you make must contain 3 links and must be over 75 words long. There are some other rules, but they are all pretty straight forward to follow. You can receive payment for your services via PayPal. Apparently you can earn from $4 up to $25 per post, doing that a few times gives you a nice tidy sum.

Diving Into NeverblueAds

Posted on February 28th, 2008 in Earn Money Blogging | 6 Comments »

NeverblueAds Logo

I am always looking for new ways to monetize my blog and after reading various experiences from people and the visit that Tyler Cruz took to Neverblue Media, I was impressed so I applied.

Two days ago I had my application accepted by Neverblue Ads on the telephone. I was expecting the phone call later on in the day seeing as there was a quite a large time difference from here in the UK. I had to go to work so I took my phone with me and had it on silent and expected to feel the phone ringing in my pocket. It did ring but I missed the phone call by 20 minutes, I couldn’t feel the phone vibrating in my pocket. I was gutted as I now had to wait around 3 hours to get home and try to contact them to ask for another phone call.

Once I had got home I checked my email to see a ‘Application Denied’ by NeverblueAds. I quickly emailed them to say sorry I missed the phone call as I was at work and within 2 hours I received another call from all the way across the pond! After a short phone call with a nice member of staff at Neverblue Media, she confirmed that I was accepted and this afternoon I received my confirmation email and I was ready to go. I did stutter a bit on the phone, which I was embarrassed about.

I logged into my account and immediately started looking around on the affiliate interface and was quickly starting a campaign on my blog, which you can see to the right. NeverblueAds works on a CPA basis, where you provide a lead to your audience or to a product, and once the visitor signs up, downloads or buys, you get commission for pointing them in the direction of the advertiser. Putting an advert on your blog is very easy. You can make a detailed search on what type of advert you are looking for, image size for example and what type of methods you are allowed to promote the product. You are then displayed with all the different campaigns which you can earn various amounts of money from.

NeverblueAds

It’s simple to implement the ads and there are a lot of different size image adverts to show as well as flash adverts and text adverts. I’m still getting used to everything and I’ll see how they perform for me and let you know in the future.
