Blog Report March 2008
Posted on April 1st, 2008 in Blog Related |
Well another month has passed. A lot has happened since the 7th December 2008. This month I’ve tried very hard to promote my site, worked really hard to earn and this month I have seen results! I set myself some goals this month and they were:
- Make $50.00 this month in March.
- Get over 3000 unique visitors in March.
- Gain over 30 Subscribers in March.
- Drop 100 Entrecards per day (already completed this today)
Well I’ll see whether I got the earnings, visitors and subscribers this month below. Here are last month’s statistics first.
February 2008 Stats:
- Unique Visitors: 1713
- Best Unique Day: 467 (28th February 2008)
- Hits: 91178
- Average Visits per Day: 113.10
- Alexa Rank: 855,361
- RSS Subscribers: 14
- Technorati Rank: Something like 400k + I think.
February 2008 Earnings:
- Google Adsense: $1.40
- Project Wonderful: $0.58
- Kontera: $0.05
Not very good.
March 2008 Statistics:
- Unique Visitors: 2208
- Best Unique Day: 239 (1st March 2008)
- Hits: 107009
- Average Visits per Day: 140
- Alexa Rank: 402,050
- RSS Subscribers: 35
- Technorati Rank: 82,932
Those unique visitors don’t include the ones that disappeared after my silly mistake that meant that figures for a day were 0 and two other days were a lot less than they should have been.
I’m sure the unique visitors would have been close to 2500 for this month but I’ll have to settle at that figure.
Anyway those figures are a much better improvement and I reached a goal that I wanted to achieve of over 30 subscribers, currently sitting at 25 which is nice. ![]()
I’m pretty sure it’s down to the competition and I’m hoping the next one will double it.
March 2008 Earnings:
These are a little bit different to last month.
- Reviews: $56.00
- Affiliate Ads: $1.50
- Google Adsense: $3.16
- Project Wonderful: $1.25
- Kontera: $0.90
Total Earnt: $62.81
Expenses: $8.95 (Hosting)

Great to hear you managed to get the goals accomplished, for the most part. Maybe if you’d gotten a good digg or something it would have tipped the balance with the uniques there. The other goals are more important anyway though. Congrats!

Luke, thank you for the comment. I need to make sure I get some other goals accomplished this month and try to double them! I need to hit the digg front page, then hopefully they’ll be a few more visits.
Thanks Carol!
It was definitely nice to see some nice earnings this month, especially with not that much expenditure!
I am pleased to be one of your new March subscribers. I’m finding a useful resource here as I learn how this stuff works.

Some tips.
If you want to make more from adsense, put your ads like i have mine on my site.
To get more from kontera make sure the clickable words only show up in the main post content. (not sure if you did this)
Start doing some serious keyword research and link building. Here is a list of over 800 free directories. http://www.addurl.nu/
Get roboform and start submitting. its somewhat tedious, but it will help hugely. if you finish that list there is always the directory anouncement section of digitalpoint.
let me know if you decide to try anything. I would like to see how it works out for you.
I’ve definitely not targeted my Kontera to just the content, will have to do that.I’ve submitted my website to many directories but I will have to see which others I can. I don’t really want to place my ads right at the top of the post as it’ll be presented straight to my readers and make it seem like I’m throwing them at you. I have tried some new adsense spots to see how they go.
Thanks for your great comment.
Yikes, so ads don’t quite compensate the costs of a website. I understand that the gold lies in affiliate marketing, but as the owner of a personal blog, I’m still reluctant to hop on that bandwagon.
Good stats though, your site will grow.
