Blog Income Report Jan & Feb 2008
Posted on March 1st, 2008 in Blog Related |
Seeing as I was experimenting in December with my blog I didn’t monitor my income for that month, I probably earnt next to nothing that month anyway. These two months have not gone the way I wanted them to, but thats why I’m hoping from the beginning of March onwards, things will improve greatly for the blog. I have learnt alot the past 2 and a half months and I’ve experienced a lot of things on my short blog journey so far and I’m ready to put them into practice. I aspire to be a successful blogger, earning a decent income from it and providing my readers with useful content and a blog they love reading. I have not put all my eggs in one basket and I’m continuously trying new ways to earn money. You can look at my monetization methods here if you are looking for a new network to go with. I’ve explained more about my January and February experiences below.

January 2008
The month of January was very much an experiment month to, where I did not expect to receive much income, but I had my adverts around and got a little amount from some of my advertising networks.
- Google Adsense: $3.14
- Kontera: $0.19
- Widgetbucks: $1.10 ($25 Signup Bonus)*
Total Amount Earned: $4.43
*Not counted as I didn’t really earn it.
January Traffic Statistics
Unique Visitors: 1812
Best Unique Day: 206 (27th January 2008)
Hits: 85747
Average Visits per Day: 98.84
Alexa Rank: 1,500,000 +
RSS Subscribers: 5
In January I received quite a nice supply of visitors which I was happy about. I monitored my statistics in January from the 11th until the end of the month.
February 2008
This month I had a very bad patch where I had writers block and I left my blog alone for a while whilst I was working, amongst other things. This had a negative impact on my traffic that I was receiving. This lasted for a around 1 and a half weeks until I decided to sort things out by working on my design and posting. I was never expecting to earn anything massive for quite a few months whilst I try my hardest to get as many visitors as possible.
- Google Adsense: $1.40
- Project Wonderful: $0.58
- Kontera: $0.05
Total Amount Earned: $2.03
With the late introduction of NeverblueAds I’m hoping it is very successful in the future as I continue learnt how to use it to its maximum capability.
I’ve also signed up for Blogvertiser which I’m hoping will contribute towards earning more money from my blog.
February Statistics
Unique Visitors: 1713
Best Unique Day: 467 (28th February 2008)
Hits: 91178
Average Visits per Day: 113.10
Alexa Rank: 855,361 (A nice drop there)
RSS Subscribers: 14
There was a small drop in unique visitors, but that was not helped by not being active for a while. My best unique day came only two days ago where I recieved over 450 unique visitors in a day which was nice to see as it was an improvement on January. I also gained over double last months RSS subscribers, which was nice to see that I was doing something right. Hopefully this continues to rise.
Setting Some Goals for March 2008 and the Future
I think it’s about time I set myself some hard but achieveable targets and kick my butt into gear to reach them.
- Make $50.00 this month in March.
- Get over 3000 unique visitors in March.
- Hold a successful contest.
- Gain over 30 Subscribers in March.
- Get my first $100 with Google Adsense (Currently at $86.21).
- Guest post on 3 blogs.
- Start writing pay-per-post articles.
- Drop 100 Entrecards per day (already completed this today)
I need your help to do this and once I reach them I will set targets even higher, make sure you follow my journey blogging by entering your email or subscribing in an RSS reader.

Good luck with your monetization efforts! If you’re considering paid posts, I recommend SponsoredReviews. I just started writing for them in January, and so far, I’ve made more than $118.
