How To Make The Most Of Entrecard

Posted on February 23rd, 2008 in Blogging Tips | 2 Comments »

EntreCard

Entrecard is a great way of gaining traffic to your blog. If you don’t know what Entrecard is, then take a look at this post. I’ve spoken to a lot of Entrecard users and some of them all seem to have a similar trend. They are just Entrecard “Browsers” as I would call it. They drop on other blogs, check their advertisement requests and buy advertising. These people are not using Entrecard to its full potential. Entrecard can bring you extremely large amounts of traffic and you want to use every way possible you can to get those visitors. You have to try many methods to get the most out of Entrecard.

Be an Active Member of the Forum
If you don’t already know being active on a forum does great things for your blog. Having a link to your blog and letting others know about it gets you a nice stream of visitors. The same goes for Entrecard. Entrecard is growing massively each day and has huge amounts of users on its forums discussing advertising and Entrecard in general. If you can be active on member on the Entrecard forum, people will visit your Entrecard profile and this will help gain you more traffic.

The Shop Holds Something You may be Interested In
If you haven’t looked at the shop before, you can use your saved credits to buy from many different departments in the shop. You have the chance to buy different types of advertising in the shop, buy an eBook to help you, buy writing services and products, graphic design services but to name only a few.

Write Recommendations for other Bloggers
When you visit popular bloggers Entrecard profiles you see they are full to the brim with recommendations that people have written. When I visit a profile, I sometimes like to read recommendations about the websites so I know what other people think about that blog. Entrecard users that are not well known sometimes do not receive large amounts of recommendations, or sometimes none at all. This leaves their details page bare. They would like someone to leave a recommendation, and you could be this person. You may get recommendations back and you will almost certainly gain visitors because they prize getting recommendations on their Entrecard details page.

Follow Entrecard’s Blog
Entrecard’s administrators write a blog on their updates and the growth of Entrecard. You can comment on their blog and as always, commenting on other blogs makes a difference to you. Others will visit your blog when they are visiting the posts. There are very small amounts of comments on their blog posts, so you will stand out when you post as you won’t be lost in mass amounts of comments.

Monitor Your Statistics
Entrecard statistics page offers you various tips on how to improve on the amount of card drops you recieve, how to improve the amount of advert clicks you receive, improving organic clicks and how you can improve the amount of drops you do. The graphs that are displayed on the statistics page help you greatly as they show you peaks and the amounts you receive. You have the chance to see who drops most on your blog and maybe you can go thank them for dropping on your blog. You can see which blogs you have advertised on have provided you with the most clicks from their site, this will assist you in the future in buying more advertising with your Entrecard credits. You can see the list of sites that provided the best value over the last 30 days via adverts you ran on their widget.

Be Friendly To Other Blogs

Jump

In the past I have written about how commenting on other blogs makes a difference. This is a nice way of being friendly to other bloggers, because they know you’re visiting and they will be most likely drop into your blog and say “Hi” back. If you get to know that blogger a bit more and here are some of the benefits of being friends with another blogger;

  • They will find your posts and if they like them, they will link to them.
  • Their visitors will know your an active member and visit your blog.
  • You will have the chance to ask them any questions which may help you improve your blog.
  • You may be able to work together to increase readers for both your blogs, maybe holding a competition against one another, or advertise each others blogs.
  • You may be able to bag yourself some freebies. Helping them out will sometimes get you some free advertising for your blog. Remember, you shouldn’t give to receive but blogging does not count in that, you would like something back.

Writing a Review about their Blog
Writing a review about another blog is a great way of letting them know that you have read their blog and writing a review helps them define what can be improve or what you like about their blog. They may get in contact with you back, because after all you are providing them with a link to their blog.

Write a Guest Post on their Blog
Nothing get’s the attention of a blog owner better than writing content for their blog. They will always like to use a good quality post when they are unable to post. They will merit you for this and they’ll always remember your blog.

Comment a Lot on their Blog
As said, commenting does make a difference. If you’re letting that blog know your reading their posts, its a nice feeling for them. They will reward you with links and a mention. Don’t forget, your helping their blog grow by commenting.

Help Them Out
Ask them if they need any help with anything. They may have a lot to do and you have some free time, so why not help them with their blog.

Spread some Linklove
Every blogger loves being linked to. If you are linking to their posts in your posts then you are doing them a great favour by helping them gain traffic. As I have done weekly as well as many other bloggers, I create a post in which I gather links from posts in the week I have read. Read here why linking to other blogs is a great way to gain traffic.

Building a Good Relationship is Key
If you work for months and years with another blogger, your blogs will feed off each other and they will grow. Share your ideas and learn from one another, it’s a win-win situation.
